miss bentley brooke + the pink wingback

I used to say I despise pink. Perhaps I may have used the word hate once or twice in regards to the color. I was instantly no longer a fan of Julia Roberts after she wanted her wedding to be shades of "blush" and "bashful" in Steel Magnolias. However, now nearly 21 months after the birth of our first child, a daughter, the color has shed it's former reputation in my mind and now represents something new to me.

Pink signifies innocence and femininity; and more recently, my daughter. Her blushing cheeks and pigtail bands to her precious nose in February, are all now endearing to me in their pink hue. I was once outspoken on my anti-pink soapbox and now find myself choosing pink.

I bought this pink wingback chair when I was single with the intention of have it reupholstered one day. A husband and a darling daughter later, I have embraced it.

Speaking of our daughter - she is a ham sandwich. A lovely blend of femininity (doting on her sock monkey) and tomboy roots (taking a 4-wheeler down a few stairs). Despite my subtle direction, she took the opportunity of a photo shoot on the lawn and ran with it. Literally. Enjoy her quirky character that radiates in these photos.

and lastly, with "Bobby"
